The Faculty of Administration under the leadership of Dean was established in 1967 with the mission of producing highly skilled and intellectual manpower to meet the strategic needs of the nation through the public and private sectors. It is made up of four (4) departments namely; Department of Accounting, Department of Business Administration, Department of Local Government and Development Studies and Department of Public Administration.
These departments have trained and are training high skilled manpower through teaching and research at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In addition, Faculty of Administration is also transforming to meet the needs of emerging global demand by e-learning through Distance Learning Programmes. read more

The vision of the Faculty of Administration is to be known for academic excellence in specialized areas of administration, insurance, management, local government and development studies and to be a world-class resource centre for public organisations, the Nigerian business environment as well as a centre for the training of accounting professionals for Nigerian establishments and beyond.

The Faculty is transforming to meet modern challenges by introducing entrepreneur education, administration and management of non-governmental organisation, gender mainstreaming, conflict management etc. The Faculty hosts apart from the undergraduate programs but also many postgraduate programmes that are academic and professional to meet the needs of the immediate environment and beyond. The departments in the Faculty host journals that are making their mark in the academic community. The Faculty is anchored on the values of academic excellence, performance, accountability, service, good governance, etc. The Faculty moves toward becoming the outstanding faculty in the University and a reference point and the benchmark in administration and management studies in Nigerian Universities, Africa and beyond.
