The Faculty of Administration, under the leadership its Dean, was established in 1967 with the mission of producing highly skilled - intellectual manpower to meet the strategic needs of the nation in line with the cardinal objectives and mission of the founding fathers of Ahmadu Bello University. It is made up of four (4) Departments namely: Department of Accounting, Department of Business Administration, Department of Local Government and Development Studies and Department of Public Administration. These four (4) Departments have the responsibility for training high skilled manpower in their respective areas through teaching and research at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The Faculty has all along the line produced graduates and postgraduate students in Accounting, Public and Business Administration, as well as in Local Government Policy and Development Studies.
In addition the Faculty of Administration is also transforming to meet the needs of emerging global demand by e-learning through Distance Learning Programmes. The vision of the Faculty of Administration is to be known for academic excellence in specialized areas of administration, insurance, management, local government and development studies and to be a world-class resource centre for public organisations, the Nigerian Business Environment as well as a centre for the training of accounting professionals for Nigerian establishments and beyond.Read More...
